Daniel and Lily's love story began during a long drive to a leadership training program in upstate New York in the summer of 2022. Daniel sought a co-driver for his manual car and found Lily, who shared the journey with him and a few others from their church who were attending. As they conversed on the road, they discovered mutual interests, with Daniel offering to teach Lily sailing, a skill she desired. Despite their busy schedules in New York, they made time for Daniel to teach Lily how to sail, and through this time spent with each other, they got to know each other better and better before Lily finally asked Daniel why he was acting so strange and he confessed his feelings for her. Soon after, Lily and Daniel began dating, they were engaged in December of 2023.
